Do I need a reservation?
No. However, we limit our class size to 8 people, on a first-come, first-served basis, to maximize your student-to-teacher time.
Does your schedule change on national holidays?
Our schedule stays the same, regardless of holidays, unless otherwise posted on the website/at the studio.
How long is each lesson?
Each class lasts 70 minutes. After class we serve tea and you can spend some time in quiet contemplation or conversation.
What should I wear?
Whatever's comfortable for you! Usually breathable fabrics like cotton and linen are best. Please wear something with an elastic waistband and no zippers.
What if I'm late?
Please try to come to class on time, but don't stress yourself out if you're a minute or so late. Just relax before you enter the room and take your place in a quiet manner.
Can I eat before class?
Some people suggest that you not eat for 2 hours before a yoga class. Others say that a snack is okay before class begins. You have to decide what's right for you, but it's best not to eat a heavy meal before class.
What if I don't understand something in class?
Feel free to ask questions during or after class if you don't understand something. We value your feedback and will use it to make your classes better.
What if I have to leave early?
Please let the instructor know at the beginning of class if you need to leave early. It's important to spend at least five minutes relaxing after any workout to feel the benefits of the class.
What about mats?
You can purchase yoga or “sticky” mats locally at Sports Authority, Don Quixote or The Loft. Mats cost between 1,000-6,000 yen.
Yoga Garden has a limited number of mats available to try if you don't have one.
For our regular customers, we offer mat storage free of charge.
Is there anything else I need to know?
Please let the instructor know if you have any conditions they need to know about (i.e. pulled muscle, if you've eaten recently, allergies). We have confidential waivers and registration forms for you at your first class, at which time you can let us know.
